‘Phillip’s Original Coney Island…THE BEST Coneys in Columbus, hands down. Eating lunch at Phillip’s makes one wish for larger stomach capacity! You just don’t wanna stop eatin’!’ Taryn R.
‘Phillip’s is my all-time favorite! Phillip’s chili is the best! I’m having ‘Phillip’s Withdrawals!’

I’ve been neighbors with Phillips Coney Island now for 23 years. I can rememeber when we first moved into the neighborhood, Nick was a little boy, we watched him grow up. We still laugh about the weight we gained as we ate there everyday for lunch atleast 6 months straight! I am certain this is the oldest family owned business in Columbus. The Manus rule of thumb in business has always been, neat and clean delivering high quality food and it has never changed through the years even when the appearance of the restuarant made improvements. It’s always been the same great tasting food for as long as I can remember. The one thing that keeps me coming back even when I have to wait in line is the Original Coney Islands. Wow, you cannot get a better hotdog anywhere; and you can put money on that!

I’ve been eating at Phllips’s since the early 80’s when a coworker brought me one to try - I’ve been hooked ever since. Then it was cool to find out my dad and mom used to go to the one on High St. when they were dating - over 50 years ago. Every time I’m in another city I search out the coney’s from other establishments. I’ve had some good ones, but never quite as good as Phillip’s - the coney sauce is always consistenly excellent - you can count on it.

I remember going to Phillip’s Coney Island as a child with my Grandmother. Now I stop in for lunch from time to time and savor the flavor and the memories. No one makes a better coney than Phillip’s!

I discovered Phillips when Mayor Coleman presented the multi-generation business with the 1st. Food Safey Inspection. It is fun to see a restaurant span four generations and keep a large group of committed customers. While I live in Dublin, I often drop in to have my favorite coneys. Best of all, when I open the door all of the staff treats me like I am a long lost relative. Image… great comfort food and a team of staff treating me like a Queen. You need to open a chain in the burbs.

My folks were originally from Columbus. We lived in Indiana, but everytime we came to Columbus to visit family, we always had to stop at Phillips. The coneys still taste the same! I remember my dad saying that when he was growing up, he’d go there regularly and buy coneys by the “sack full”…!
